This website

This website is a static, informational site. It does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies or analytics that profile visitors, and it does not ask you to create an account.

The site is served through a hosting and content-delivery provider which, like any web server, processes technical request data such as your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. This processing is necessary to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse, on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These technical logs are retained by the provider for a limited period and are not used by MLC to identify individual visitors.

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts in order to display the site as designed. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which involves your IP address being visible to that service.

Contacting MLC

If you send an e-mail or call, the data you provide — typically your name, contact details, the organisation you represent and the content of your message — is processed for the purpose of answering your enquiry and, where relevant, preparing a quotation. The legal basis is the performance of, or steps preparatory to, a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and legitimate interest in responding to business correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are retained for up to two years, so that earlier correspondence can be picked up again. Where an engagement follows, the correspondence is kept as part of the client file.

Clients

For client engagements, MLC processes contact details of the people involved, the correspondence relating to the work, and the administrative data required for invoicing. Invoicing records are retained for seven years, as Belgian accounting law requires.

Where MLC is given access to systems or data belonging to a client in the course of an engagement, this happens on the client's instruction and MLC acts as a processor. Such access is limited to what the work requires and is governed by the engagement agreement and, where applicable, a data-processing agreement.

Recipients

Personal data is not sold and is not shared for marketing purposes. It may be processed by service providers acting on MLC's behalf — specifically the website hosting and content-delivery provider, the e-mail provider, and the accounting service used for invoicing. Data is disclosed to public authorities only where a legal obligation requires it.

Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer relies on the safeguards permitted by Chapter V GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data held about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to request restriction of processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to receive data you provided in a portable form. Requests can be made at marco@marcologistics.be and are answered within one month.

If you believe your data is being handled improperly, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels — www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

Security

This website is served over HTTPS. Access to correspondence and client data is limited to MLC and protected by device encryption, strong authentication and up-to-date software. No system is entirely without risk; should a breach affect your data and present a significant risk, you will be informed in accordance with Articles 33 and 34 GDPR.

Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the services or the providers used. The current version is always available at this address.
