AI solutions & automation

Applying large language models and agent-based systems to work that currently consumes people's days. The interesting problems are rarely the model itself — they are the plumbing around it: getting reliable input, constraining output, handling the cases where the model is wrong, and fitting the whole thing into an existing process without breaking it.

I build against your own data and systems, with attention to what happens when a result is uncertain. An assistant that is confidently wrong is worse than no assistant.

Data solutions

Operational data is usually spread across an ERP, a handful of spreadsheets, a few e-mail inboxes and one system nobody wants to touch. The work is consolidating it, establishing what can be trusted, and making it available where decisions are actually taken.

This includes the uncomfortable part: reporting on how bad the data is, and what has to change upstream before any dashboard is meaningful.

Python development

Custom software where an off-the-shelf product does not fit. Python for anything from a scheduled job that replaces a recurring manual export to a service several systems depend on, written to be read by whoever maintains it next.

Functional consulting & innovation

Analysis and design work, independent of who builds the result. Mapping a process as it runs today, identifying where automation or AI genuinely pays off and where it does not, and writing functional specifications precise enough to build or tender against.

Useful when an organisation knows something should improve but not yet what to change, or when a project needs a specification before development can responsibly start.

A short, fixed-price analysis of the process and the opportunity, ending in a written recommendation. Stands on its own — no obligation to continue.

Fixed-scope project

A defined deliverable, a defined price, a defined date. Suitable once the problem is understood well enough to be specified.

Ongoing support

Day-rate availability for development, maintenance or advisory work alongside your own team.
